I just got an email from the safety officer in our club. A pretty sad picture of a S&W 629 with two exploded cylinders from Chinese .44mag ammo. I just wondered if anyone else had problems of any kind with Chinese ammo.
Once I figure it out I'll include the pic.

Don't bother. It's been 'round the interweb a few times in the last couple years, including more than once here. There is no evidence that the ammo is Chinese, and nothing in picture shows definitively that the ammo was the cause.

I did buy some seriousley cheap PMC 44 mag ammo a few years ago. Factory box and everything.

The ammo was ridiculously hot, hard extractions, primer flowed around the firing pin and busted the firing pin after shot #5, if it was one of my own handloads, I would have stopped after the first shot, but I didnt know any better at the time.

Jacketed hollowpoints didnt just expand slightly, they exploded outwards, flattening out to something larger then a twoonie and about as thick as one.

Last PMC ammo I ever bought.

I think PMC is South Korea stuff.

Yes, that's it. Same picture. No provenance, no proof of anything.

Tales Of The Interweb.

My god i've seen that picture for the last 5 years around the net, its been called Winchester, federal, hornady, Hand loads, etc.

14 results for tiny eye and some showing from back to 2006

no no no, it wasn't the ammo, it was a NORINCO pistol and it's clearly inferior metal, that's the result of a normal round being fired under normal circumstances... :stirthepot2:

haha.
