oversize .303 bullets

I seem to recall hearing a few years ago that there are oversize factory bullets for loose bore Enfields out there. Anyone know if this is true or where to find them?
 
CIL used to make bullet diameters anywhere from .310 to .315 for the 303 British.

Wartime production of 30 calibre rifles, varied a lot. Many were accepted into service because they were so badly needed. Yeah I know, old hat.

I don't know of any bullet manufacturers that make up the oversize bullets anymore. Maybe a custom swager could be convinced to make a run, if there was enough demand.
 
Ya it's just for a couple sporters I have and I'm not sure it's worth the effort to cast something for them. Thinking I might just dump them on the local market cheap.
 
Steve Redgwell [303 British.com] made jacketed bullets up to .314" diameter.
I have a bunch of his Mk9 SP 200 grainers at .313", and they shot very well indeed in my P14, which had a .3135" groove diameter.

Most manufacturers make their .303British in .311" diameter, but Hornady does .312", and site sponsor Trade Ex Canada imports Woodleigh bullets from Australia - they are also .312" and I just noticed they are listing 215grain roundnose!

X2. Both the 180's and the 200's work well for me. Even in my old 1898 LEC. They just seemed to need a slightly bigger bullet.
