After a long wait, we finally picked up our new batch of bolt knobs today. We have changed the design from our previous version and we are really happy with them.

They are CNC machined from 6061 bar stock and are Type III Hard Coat Anodized in a matte black. We are still waiting for tooling to be able to do installs, but we are selling these starting today to anyone who wants to install themselves, or have someone else do it. We will also start a list of people who want to wait for us to do it.

The price on these will be the same as always, $34.99. Install will be $35, plus $10 return shipping if you buy the knob from us. $50 plus $10 return shipping for installation of anyone else's product.

If you would like to order please email us at mike@allengunworks.com. Retail packaging will be completed later this week for any dealers that are interested in stocking these.

We are just set up to do Remington installs ourself right now, as that is what the jig we built will handle. We could make a new jig though. As long as you have enough material on your bolt handle to turn it down to 5/16" it will work.

Looks good and nice to see quality products back instock at reasonable pricing.

The Savage should be a lot easier to deal with as you don't need to worry about the bolt body. There should be plenty of metal on the handle.

If you need a dummy handle to build a jig, just ask. I have one I can spare for 'R&D'.

Maybe we can work a trade?

What do you basically do to install one on a remington bolt?

are you cutting the original knob and threading the remainder, shaving the one into threading or tapping a screw?

It would be cool to see a couple pictures of the steps involved in putting one on.

the $35 is a good price, that is what the badger knob is selling for in american dollars. i got a badger across the border before their permit expired, when i nedded a second i was SOL. had to get a canadian made one and was soaked hard for $70 if i remember correctly. pretty poor if you ask me, but what can you do when you need something. good job.

Aren't those pretty much identical to the badger bolt knobs?

6061, Im guessing that's aluminum? Any possibility you could make a heavier version out of steel if there was a demand for it?

Thanks.. this is a first for my gunsmith, he was looking to see what the options were for installation..

he is thinking of either doing it this way or cutting the remington knob and tapping in a threaded rod.

I just got a jig back from the shop that I am going to use to turn the handles down on the lathe. A lot of people mill them, but then you have to set up for each one and it is a bit time consuming. With the lathe jig I can set up the jig and then just swap out bolts as needed.

Goose 25 - I can make them out of anything, just depends on the demand. I am working on getting some bead blasted stainless ones made next.

I will also have a jig done by next week to turn Savage bolt handles. I will try to post pics of both jigs while I am turning them.

Finally got a chance to try out the Savage bolt knob jig. Turned out pretty nice.

I found out the hard way the Savage handles are hard as hell!!! Install price on these might be a bit higher since tooling is going to wear down a lot quicker on these installs. For now I will set the price at $45 and see how it goes.

I am just waiting for more bolt knobs to come back from the anodizer before I ship any more out. They should be here early next week.
