Owl steals my MoJo decoy

I have a few hawks out at my farm, a few years ago you couldn't leave the house without a hat because they'd swoop by and steal it and if you wernt wearing one they'd damn near scalp ya.
They've taken my rabbit decoy, didn't take it very far just left it atop a round bail
They also stole my grandpas watch, he was working on the truck and took it off and put it on the roof of the truck and the shiny must have got there attention.
Never did get the watch back

Had a hawk swoop down at me while running a rabbit in distress call. I waived my arms and he aborted at the last second. I had no decoys out, just running the distress call while sitting on the edge of a clearing in full camo clothing.

Had a loon almost get my bait spinner while trouting. I was stood in about 3 feet of water and was watching my lure come in to see if any trout were following. I saw a small stream of bubbles behind the lure and up popped the loon about 8 feet from me. Not sure which one of us got the bigger fright.

Looked up in time one afternoon to see a set of outstretched claws only inches from my face while tucked into a treeline calling for fox with my predator call. Me and sir Owl spotted each other about the same time, I ducked as he flared!! They sure can pinpoint location by sound!!

Another time we had a hawk swoop down and try to make off with one of our duck decoys! Was quite the racket hearing his claws on the hard plastic G&H Decoy. There was a puncture through it when we picked it up after the hunt. Pretty powerful grip to punch through hard plastic like that!!

Wasn't hunting but I was driving my car down the road. There was a hawk in the ditch holding a gopher, as we got closer he spooked and flew over the road. I was pretty close to him when he got scared and dropped his gopher right into my windshield. Blood and guts all over the car. Brought the car in later to change tires and the mechanic noticed the broken windshield wiper. He called my wife to ask if we wanted it replaced. She told him the story but when I picked the car up I was pretty sure he didn't believe her.

Years ago, there was a pack of crows that would wait for someone to put down their hotdog on the 10 th tee. Instead one took off with my car keys scooped out of a open pocket on my golf bag.

Kinda ruined all our rounds. Mine while i tried to catch my breath from chasing the thief waving a driver ( it was too heavy and he gave up after hopping down the fairway 100 plus yards) My buddies games suffered as their coordination was messed up by the laughing.

I had a falcon steal my first downed duck of this season. A few years back I hooked a loon while fishing, damn thing nearly ripped the rod outta my hand before the line snapped. Also been attacked by a bunch of pissed of Canada geese while egg oiling and had to hold'em at bay with my paddle to finish the job...

Hahah wow I wish I could see video of that happening! Best visual, glad you found it again, those things are pricey!

Who is hunting who lol..

Have had both an owl and a hawk take a run at our cat in the back yard. cats still with us so hasn't used all it's lives "yet".

Years ago my dad & I were fishing at a high mountain lake, Eagle Lake, west of Sundre, Ab. when a Loon hit the old man's hook. one of the funiest things I ever seen in the wild. Can't remember the test weight of the line but it held when the loon came to the end of the slack in the line. Don't ever remember a more pissed off critter than that bird when he was reeled into shore so we could extract the hook.

Had a red tail swoop down and grab my quiver critter decoy. He dropped it after about 10 seconds, Then he landed about 5 feet away from it to study it some more before seeing me and take off

Had a snowy owl swoop down right at dark and grab my critter decoy, The bloody thing came out of the tree above me, I never heard or see it until it came about 5 feet over my head then landed right on the decoy. He pulled lots of fur off it and bent the wire in the middle. Incredible strength in their talons.

had many large mouth bass and pike hit small bass while reeling them in, I seen at least a 40" pike grab a 1lb bass when it was about 3 feet from the boat, Almost netted them both, Very exciting when you see gators following like that.

Had many coyotes come on a full out run and hit my turkey decoy right off the stake, Once turkey hunting and a couple times coyote hunting.

Ok! Here is my personal favorite:

Arctic Tern grabs my Grey Muddler fly while I'm trolling for lake Rainbows and goes airborne again well-hooked and shrieking like a banshee. After about 45 seconds of total pandemonium while I struggled to bring it to hand it tore loose. Poor bugger's bill didn't look too good as it "got out of Dodge" and I felt kind of bad but whatcha gonna do??!!

I had a walleye grab my northern pike bait a couple of times! Does that count?

No, but years ago while fishing the Lachine rapids, a seagull dove for my Rapala and actually took off with it. Far enough to pull on my line. Wouldn't let go that easy either. I bet with a little bit of luck I could have hooked him. Now that would be something to write about.
