Own the following cartridges, what am I missing?

I own long guns in the following cartridges used for both hunting and plinking at the range. Other than "buy every other cartridge out there", which areas am I functionally missing out on that that I should look into next?

.223/5.56
9mm
.38/357
7.62x39
6.5x55
.308
.30.06
375H&H
45-70
12 gauge

I'm thinking 2 areas I don't currently have covered are extended long range hunting/target cartridges (something in 6.5, 7mm or 30cal?) and something that really stands out on the top end as a thumper, 416 Rigby?

I have considered that. I've only taken grouse with my .22's but was considering the 12 gauge the last time I was out.

Would 12 be overkill for grouse?

Some people here use them, ill let them speak to it but I personally feel its a bit much.

Not necessarily. But your odds of boning a perfect breast definitely go down. More holes = more work post-hunt.

.35 something to other. The .35 Remington is a nice cartridge, and some cool guns use it (the Model 8 and 81, namely).

In terms of my current usage for each:
.22 LR - small game/plinking
.223/5.56 - varmint/ plinking
9mm - plinking
.38/357 - plinking/ potentially deer
7.62x39 - plinking/ potentially deer
6.5x55 - Coyote to moose. Little heavy for coyote, little light for moose.
.308 - deer/moose
.30.06 - deer/moose
375H&H - Moose/Bear/Bison
45-70 - Moose/Bear/Bison
12 gauge - Clays/ small game/ turkey/ deer

So it looks like I'm missing something between .223 and 6.5x55. Also missing the 7mm, 8mm, 338s, 35s and any of the higher velocity >40cal offerings.

I considered a 35 Whelen before. Do the 35s offer much more than the 30s and 375s? I have also considered picking up a 338 to split the difference.

Hadn't really thought of those before. Is a .257 similar to a .243? Fast coyote and deer cartridge?

Still brushing up on my European cartridges, where do these slot in. 7x57 similar to a 7mm-08? 8mm slightly larger than 30

Yeah I would like something to stretch out with, considering 7RM, 300WM, 338WM and the new PRCs.

17 HMR for small game at longer range than 22LR. Perfect for rabbits

I'd get rid of the 308 and 30-06 and get a 300 Win Mag.
