if they would not mind taking the list containing full names of participants off the publicaly viewable page, perhaps more security conscious shooters would participate.

Like said above, it's not publically visible. Plus, when you create your own account, you specify what you want to be shown for you on the "publically visible" page.
The names there now are people who didn't bother to create accounts, just contacted the MD directly and let the MD do all the work - they were entered manually. if they bothered to just join the system, they could have whatever they want displayed.

i implied on the page that can be accessed through opga's web site.
regardless of people signing up with or without accounts, they should not be putting up peoples names.

The IPSC-matches.net site is secure (can't be googled)
If clubs use it...no issue.
The issue is when clubs decide to post the same info in an unsecure area (like on the Oxfiord website)
Same goes for results...the IPSC Ontario website section that posts results is also secure...but that doesn't stop clubs from posting a copy of the results in an un-secured location.
This is something I'd like to reslove once and forall (either way) so I'm going to present it to the board

Wouldn't it be easier to send an e-mail to "everybody" who registered for a match instead of placing a list in public view ?

We should not be publishing competitor's lists as they become fishing lists for criminals. We already have problems with ammo purchase records.........

i know that there are some shooters who don't mind their info being published. however most would prefer to have their names limited to the competition fraternity.
if we ever become a large scale sport (nhl, nba, euro-soccer alike) tehn we won't care because we will have enough $$$$$$$$$ to buy guards, security systems, fat-bertha's vaults and cops/liberals/wendy won't bother us when our sporting goods get wings.

1; at least get Oxfords initinals right they are not OPGA they are OF&GPA
2: not all shooter's at a match provide an email addy
3; not everybody has a pc (believe it or not)
