P-14 trigger guard

Possibly the wrong forum but I have a sporterized P-14 and I'm fitting the action/barrel to a sporter stock. My trigger guard has the original step at the front and I don't have the skills to modify it to remove the step. Just wondering if anyone has a modified trigger guard
Maybe we can do a trade.

Any welding shop in your area should be able to do a re-mod...its basically an hours job, cut the drop angle out with a hacksaw, line up with a couple clamps and Mig or buzz-box weld it. filing the weld smooth and final finish with emory cloth will take another hour and your done...oh ya, cold blue the joint .

I had done exactly one military unit into a sporter unit - I had made a jig from 1/4" C-channel, so I could bolt it in place to weld up, and to hold all in place in a vice while I wielded. I am not a welder - my best weld stuck the thing to the jig! But, enough time and swearing and the thing got done. Now to see if I can find that jig - was "too good stuff" for me to have thrown it out.
