It finally stopped raining long enough to take a stroll with the P-14 today. I didn't see any varmints to practice on but I did do some shooting in a big gravel pit. The 1917 P-14 was loaded a little warmer than the factory 303 and all shot to point of aim out to about 150 yards. My eyes are not 25 years old anymore but the old Winchester surprised me with 18 hits out of 18 shots.
My 216 grain Norma grain loads are loaded with 45 grains of H4895 and shoot to point of aim which surprised me as I thought I may have to hold higher for heavier bullets. The results at close range are that the 216 grainers shoot higher at 75 yards than the 150 Hornady's.
