P-14's and P-17's who has them

I've a bubba-sport Pattern '14, factory iron sights though. Great trigger, great bore, accurate rifle. That metal butt hurts, though.

Mine is a BSA-sporterized P-14. Got it locally for a song. When I got it home I discovered that a prev. owner had installed a Timney trigger as well. All I did was refinish the stock with tung oil.

I had Epps rechamber it to .303 Epps but haven't had time to work up any loads. I'm looking forward to trying Steve Redgwell's 200 gn. bullets. Prior to that, however, it shot very well indeed:

Unfortunately it does not feed RN reliably. I have a Dayton-Traister Tru-Feed kit but haven't installed it yet. The white-line spacers will have to go, too.

Given the weight, it's a natural for a big-bore chambering; some sort of classic rimmed ("flanged") round perhaps.

I want that stock! :)

Where did you find it?
And for how much?

Special order from Boyds. 6 to 8 month wait
Under $200 with freight.

I would duplicate one for you but I would have to order enough wood for 10 stocks that color and that thickness.

a 375 H&H on a monty stock

How about (The Fools Who Build on US Enfield Actions):p

It has a nice ring to it:)

Actually I like to build on them
if you have one with a very good barrel you can build a really nice magnum

I have a US Model of 1917 30-06 sported by BSA and a Centurion ex P14 in 300 Winchester Magnum with a synth stock.

A buddy gave them to me.

He's coming over later to show me his latest aquisition, apparently for $65 he just got a nicely customized P14 that a home hobbyist put a lot of time into.

This guy loves vintage hunting rifles and I've never heard him rave about a Bubba like this before.

Should be a good one.

My kid brother turned a BSA P14 into a very nice 404 Jeffery...will post pics if I can figure it out....
Original purchase price of the P14 was $2.00 at an auction simply because the auctioneer couldn't get a bid on it....he said "first $2.00 takes it home!"
Best two bucks we ever spent..:D

I would love to see that 404J! email me the pics if you want, and I can post them here. (kell2784@gmail.com)

Need pics & more details. Who's barrel did he use? Where did he find brass, dies and what bullets is he using. Always liked the Jefferys cartridge but figured it to be a real pain finding components.

I'll forward pics to Kell later today for posting.
Barrel is a Bevan King rifled by him in Bevan's shop ( they are buddies ).
He and I both have found brass from various shops, gun shows etc., its both Bertram and A-Square.
He uses Woodleigh bullets in his and I prefer Hawk in 300,350, and 400.
I am going to get some of the new 450 Woodleigh bullets when available.
Initial load testing gave groups well under the inch with all 3 bullet weights and the rifle is a dream to shoot because its heavy.
Dies are CH made for the rifle when fired cases were sent to them.
As for finding components....no problem...I've also heard Hornady is going to make bullets soon if not already, and Barnes also lists 404 bullets.

Jeez..... (We need an "insanely jealous" emoticon added to the list.) And here I thought $150.00 for mine was a good deal. I bet the guy who sold that rifle to your brother is out of business now. ("Any bids on this Holland & Holland best double in .375 Flanged? No one? All right- first $100 takes..." WHOOSH!)

This thread is driving me nuts. I have another P-14 languishing in the safe. Basically original except for a cut-down stock. It's beginning to talk to me...

Here are Kevan's pics of his very 404 Jeffrey.

I like the new idea of a club, especially the 'fools who build on Enfield actions'.;)
Perhaps a mod here can make it a sticky. It seems every 5 months or so, someone also starts asking the same old questions.
