P-17 or Springfield 1903, Which is better?

I own 5 03's as of Today & 1 M17. I wouldn't get rid of any of them (unless the price was right
). I like 03's better only because they look better. My M17 is a beautiful sporterized rifle, that is a tack driver. But in full military, its no where near as pretty as an 03 or as desirable as a collector (my opinion only). As for it being a better or worse rifle than an M17, I don't have a clue.

I've never shot an '03 but I have a US 17 that I picked up through CGN. Beautiful shooter. My dad (ex- Brit' Homeguardsman) just loves shooting it. Smooth trigger pull he keeps telling me. I had a bubba'ed .303 SMLE as a young lad, and I think the '17 is a much nicer shooter. Hey, if anyone wants to give me an '03 to compare, I'm game!

03 sights are great if your eyes are 18 yrs old.
6 P14's and one RCAF marked M1917.
Oh that bit about early 03 recievers? We fought WW1 with low number recievers! BUT we used one hell of a lot more M1917's. And you could take the safety off on a M1917 without taking your hand off the rifle.
Sleek may be nice , but either one was made to put round holes in square heads.
Americns make the best target rifle
Germans make the best Hunting rifle
And the British made the best battle rifle. (before the M1)
