Oh thank christ, there are more of us in the world, thought I was a dying breed, smart ass :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I have been enjoying this stuff on a regular basis, just wondering where it stood in the "P, +P" ratings

I prefer the term "Educated Rectum", much classier :p

"...more kick..." Think physics. A heavier bullet will have more felt recoil than a lighter bullet.

?

Thinking physics will tell you that you can't leave velocity out of the equation. Mass X Velocity = Kinetic Energy.

If both were launched at the same velocity then your statement would be correct, however, they won't be.

125gr WW 357 loads punish my hands far worse than my 158gr loads. I'm confident the extra velocity more than makes up for the lighter bullet in felt recoil in that case.

IVI 9mm ammo has lighter bullets than WW 147gn ammo, the 147gr has FAR less recoil.

It's in fact the Mass times the square of the Velocity/2 = KE. Therefore, an x % increase in velocity will comparatively produce a larger increase in felt recoil than an x % increase in mass of bullet.

Thanks for the info everyone! So in regards to my question in my post which would have more kick? 115 grain +p+ or 124 grain +p??? the 115 will be a lighter bullet but has more pressure so can someone explain, sorry im new to all this!

Hmmm what a deal, imagine what the shipping would be for a case or two...

From what I've seen, IVI & DA ammo has been much sought after because it's quality regarding accuracy and components, good for long term storage as well due to it's moisture sealent;)

JT2,

I went shooting today, put a bunch of 147gr TCMC and 127gr +P+ JHP downrange. The +P+ stuff was noticably snappier, despite the lighter bullet.

Hope that helps.

Shooting higher power ammunition out of any pistol will lessen its lifespan compared to shooting it with some slow garbage. TSE's redleg has already in the past on this forum pointed out that he has had less issues with SIG's holding up from powerfull ammunition then other pistols.

Yep, I shot a P225 in service pistol for several years, all with standard IVI 9mm. I also took my P225 to Gunsite and did a couple courses all using IVI ammo. I also shot the same gun is a couple SIGARMS courses here. Shot great, gun still going after many 1,000s of rounds, never a stoppage.
The P225 is not as durable as the P226, but it will outlast many guns (including an Inglis BHP) with IVI ammo.

RUAG makes ALL kinds of HOT loads in 9mm (all of which are more powerful then NATO specs)... All of which have been tested extensively in SIG pistols. We were told specifically NOT to shoot ANY in a GLOCK otherwise it would KILL the Glock very quickly....

SO based on 100,000's of rounds being scientifically tested, I would take RUAG's word for it in that the SIG can take hot loads...
