I hope this is where I post to get a response. If not, I'm sorry and will await direction. I have a vintage P. Beretta 12 gauge 28" 2 3-4 chamber shotgun. It's in decent shape. Not mint what-so-ever but, based on the age, it's good. Just wondering what it's worth. Any/ all feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm told it was owned by a local gun shop owner back in the 1970's. I'm told it was his first over/under. Some of the scrolling states " Bardone v.t. Brescia". " S 55. ". " Made in Italy ". Any knowledge and it's approximate value would be helpful. Thanks folks !

The S55 was a good quality field grade shotgun from the 60's-70's. It came with fixed chokes, extractors, double triggers (I believe) and a prince of wales type pistol grip stock. I'd peg the value at around $400-$500 depending on condition. I'd go as high as $800 max for one in truely mint condition

The "S 5" series of Beretta, S 55 B, S 55 B vb, S 56 E, S 57 E and S 57 EL were introduced in 1956 and discontinued after 1971. Depending on model, straight, P.o.W. or full pistol grip.
with or without vent rib, ejectors on some models and single or double triggers. Some also as a combo, i.e., 222 over 20 ga.

Good solid guns. 1963beretta i right on with his prices.

Posting some pictures would help. Any rust, dents in the barrels, does it lock up tight, is the lever left or right of centre? A bit more information would help estimate the value.

Thanks to all who replied. The gun is not mint but, in very good condition. Locks up 90% not dings or dents in barrel and has one minor "safe mark". Finish is in good shine. How do I post pictures on here ? Sorry, I'm a rookie at this posting stuff.... Thanks again for all support and direction ! Much appreciated !
