I just bought a Ruger GP100 4.2" from P&D.I am quite happy especially since it cost me 14.00 less than they originally quoted.
With any luck I'll do some shooting this weekend.

I think that their prices are a little stiff at times.

They were a bit cheaper than Phoenix before the 14.00 discount.
Wholesale might be cheaper but they're sold out at both locations.

P & D is an excellent gun shop.

You might (I say MIGHT) pay a little more than at other retailers or online, but the service and selection makes up for it IMHO!!!:D

It is a great store, I've shopped there for years. However, I've grown to like some of our sponsors on the banner that help you with warranty and repairs if anything goes wrong with your gun. Many gun stores direct you to the distributor if anything goes wrong with the gun.

Still for accessories and ammunition, I typically go to P&D

I like P&D most of the time and I do buy a lot of reloading supplies from them but I have had a couple visits where the customer service was terrible.
I asked for a price quote to order in a gun that they didn't have in stock and the young guy behind the counter told me that it was impossible to give me a quote. I asked for a ballpark number plus or minus $50 and he said that with the price of the dollar fluctuating that it was impossible and that I would just have to order it and pay whatever it was that day when it showed up.
I shook my head in frustration and walked away.
I bought it somewhere else 2 days later.
That wasn't the only bad experience but it was the most frustrating.

I think there are idiots at every shop and if your lucky they are kinda helping someone else when you get there.
It wasn't enough to make me stop going there but I do avoid contact with the guy when I go there these days.

I have also had wonderful service there so I keep going back.

Prices are a little high sometimes but good others, you just need to shop around on the internet before you go in so you know what you can get it for somewhere else.
Some days though it's worth paying a couple bucks more to get it now rather than wait a few days for delivery.

Funny I rarely shop there any more. Their stupid "you can't pull the trigger before you buy the gun" rule has me shopping elsewhere for guns. I usually get the same price elsewhere anyway.

I still buy some reloading supplies and equipment there on occasion. Very tough to beat their prices on 230grn campro .45 projectiles.

Yup I realize this post will probably start the argument of how some people like that rule cause they want a "New" gun when they buy a gun. Each to their own. I won't buy a gun if I can't test the trigger before buying.

PandD is by far the premier gun shop in Edmonton.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement.

In my opinion there are idiot employees at all of them that could ruin it for me one day and make it the greatest another day.
Just the other day I was at Cabela's and got some of the best service I've ever had, on the other hand I was in there a few weeks ago and overheard one of the guys at the gun counter telling a customer that he would have to look into whether or not the Savage rifle he was holding in his hands had an accu-trigger. I almost slapped him but instead just walked away in disgust.

As my earlier post stated I've had good and bad experiences at P&D but if you are just basing your opinion on selection of in stock items and being able to go in and be pretty sure you will walk out with what you are looking for at any price I guess they are pretty much the best place to go in Edmonton.

If you are willing to wait for a product you can almost always find it for a better price going mail order from one of the other site sponsors.

I do however try to support our local shops and will spend a couple extra dollars to get something local but when I can find the same rifle somewhere else for $50-$100 less including shipping I'm saving my money for extra ammo or mags.

Speaking of mags. We are getting hosed here in Canada! I used to order directly from CProducts and would get 1911 mags for $10 and AR15 mags for $15. Now that we can't order from them anymore Wolverine is bringing in the CProducts AR mags and tearing us a new butthole charging $45 for the same mag. I know it costs for the permits and the shipping but three times the price? And P&D charging $45 for a Norinco AR mag? Come on. That's highway robbery.
