I was planing on selling this Civilian P-Series K31 rifle to somebody I know well but first thought I would post pictures so others could enjoy what a excellent condition Factory P-Series K31 looks like before I do as they are very seldom seen as they were just a fraction of the normal military K31 production.

Judging from it's excellent condition (no bluing loss and excellent dent free wood) I think it has seen very limited range only use -

Ughh...you are NOT helping me.

I've been trying my hardest to NOT buy a K31 for the last week or so. WSS has them on for $300 right now. The itch has flared up again and I don't know if I can control myself this time!

So, if the P in front of the serial number means that it was privately owned, then I got 2 of them.
What intrigues me however, are the tags under the butt plates from the "Kantons Polizei Luzern".

BTW both are in beautiful condition with serial number matching Bayonets.

Wholesale sports is out of stock online. Sprung for two and 480 rds on thursday, 3 left in stock after I had ordered. Wife doesnt know yet. I'll gladly take her punishment to own a couple of k31's lol

My P series serial # 2637xx falls outside of 1958 regular production and dosen't seem to fit any P series numbers.Maybe a 68-69?where there are no numbers listed?

So, if the P in front of the serial number means that it was privately owned, then I got 2 of them.
What intrigues me however, are the tags under the butt plates from the "Kantons Polizei Luzern".

BTW both are in beautiful condition with serial number matching Bayonets.

Most "P" were added to the Swiss military K31s after they were released from Military inventory into private hands.
I.E. "P" meant not stolen from the military.

Most, if not, all Commercial K31s had the "P" from the start, mostly made by Hämmerli.
The heavy barrel target version were not so marked and other K31 series with only 4 digit serial numbers.
