P. Webley & Sons double question

I have an action and butt stock only for a side lever hammer gun. I have been looking at a reprint of an early P. Webley catalog and wonder if I have half and express rifle here (rather than half a shotgun). Is there a clear way to tell from the wood?

Can you see a 'size' imprint of the cartridge case head on the action's breech face?

Briliant, and when I take a twelve gauge shell and hold it against the breach I can see that this gun was a shot gun.
