Hope someone here might have advanced knowledge on how to disassemble the P08 Luger pistol. I am trying to separate the breech block (#010) from the toggle linkage (#006) and no matter what I try, I cannot drift out the pin (#007) that holds the two together. I do not want to proceed further without some sort of guidance, lest I mess up a nice rig, so... any suggestions?? I know that this step is not necessary for any regular cleaning/maintenance of the pistol, but the breech block is worn out, (wont hold the firing pin assembly [#013-015] in any more) and I need to replace it. So any suggestions would be appreciated (as well as telling me to seek a gun smith and spend some flippin money and stop being a cheap b@$tard)! Cheers! ;)in gunsmithing section

BTW: posted in Milsurp discussion forum as well.

Well first I would not take it to a so called gunsmith as they will never have work on a Luger before. You are just a bit unlucky as most of the time this pin pushes out with a little pressure. But they can stick, and trying to force them out can do damage. The only safe way to remove this pin is with a hydraulic press and some tooling (the tool you make yourself). If you do not have a press, you maybe able to find a local machine shop with one who can help you out.

There is also a small pin that goes in from the top (through the toggle) you can see the small black dot in the diagram on top of the toggle. It needs to be removed so you can take out the big pin. Yours is probably still in there.

Do not use hydraulic pres on your Luger. Nothing on Luger requires that amount of force. Remove pin that secures pin #007 in place. Do it from below and push it up. Then remove pin #007 from right to left.
