P14 ad in Shotgun News

Just saw an ad in SGN for P14s W/O volley sights or stock disks for $755 US. The ad was full page by Hunter's Lodge corporation. I know these rifles are much more rare in the US than in Canada but this is almost a 100% jump in price over what I have seen lately in Gunbroker. Thought y'all might be interested. Makes my recently completed refurbishment of a P14 look pretty smart. :D

Yeah...heck that is one hell of a price job. All my P14 is missing is the volley dial. Otherwise she is in very good condition for her age.

I think it is the other way around for us as we would generally pay more for a U.S. Model of 1917 whereas they must be common south of the border.

Hunter's Lodge the worst crooks in the US Firearms Industry, even Mitchell Arms looks good compared to them!

@JP: You must be old enough to remember the "spaghetti-grained stocks" on the AOI "VV-70 Sniper Rifles" they used to sell! That's what got me into gun collecting,so you know how long ago that was! $9.98 plus 20% for Canadian orders..... $11.97 and you picked it up at the railroad station when the steam train brought it....

Hunters Lodge

Hunter's Lodge the worst crooks in the US Firearms Industry, even Mitchell Arms looks good compared to them!

Back in the good old days of 1950s and 1960s, the name HUNTERS LODGE along with YE OLDE HUNTER were prominently displayed on the pages of many of the Gun related magazines. They were located in Alexandria, Virginia, and were well known for their surplus rifles, ammunition and other goodies. They were also good people to deal with. These companies ceased business in the 1970s.

HOWEVER, it seems that some people have resurrected the name HUNTERS LODGE, and are possibly playing on the good reputation of a defunct business. From posts on this and various other Gun related forums, it would appear that the present HUNTERS LODGE is not a very good firm to deal with, to say the least.

- The original "HUNTERS LODGE along with YE OLDE HUNTER" were trade names used by Sam Cummings of InterArms fame. Untill his death. he was the biggest Surplus Arms dealer in the world, operating a large Warehouse in Alexandria, Virginia and Birmingham, England.

- These crooks just borrowed the name and they have been fleecing people for a lot of years !

Hunters Lodge used to be the retail arm of Sam Cummins' Interarms, which all shut down in 98. These guy may have restarted it or are just using the name.
