I recently assembled all the wood and metal parts to take my P14 back to full military. However I am unsure about the correct bedding procedure. With the receiver/barrel in the new stock, I had to exert a fair amount of pressure to get the barrel into the nose cap. There is no way that that the barrel is free floating. I am unsure if I should glass bed the action, float the barrel or enlarge the wood around the nose cap or ????. Any advice would be appreciated. Probably the first step is to shoot the rifle.

I believe, but could be wrong that the idea was consistant pressure, as with the full stock one could not float the barrel.

I know with the #4's there is often a small wedge that applies a certain amount of force.

Hopefully someone with better more detailed knowledge steps in. :)

When your done I'd love to see a pic or two of your project P14.
I haven't seen many intact these days.
