I was just wondering if there are any tips or tricks to put on a new extractor collar onto a P14 rifle bolt? My original decided to break one of the tabs that hold the extractor in place on the bolt and I had a heck of a time removing the old one. Now that I have the bolt out and the old collar off I need to install one of the two new collars that I picked up from Numrich (2 just in case I bugger one).
Any advise would be appreciated before I attempt it. I was thinking that heat from a hair dryer might help keep it from cracking when I push it on over the bolt body and again when I pinch it together when trying to push the extractor back onto the tabs...
