Howdy
I'm refinishing an old P14 and can't remove the rear sight. Both screws (if that's what they are) spin freely. I'm assuming that one is peened into the other, but........
Any help is appreciated.
Mike

The sight is mounted on a long screw that has a nut on the threaded end. You'll need to modify a flat tip screwdriver to clear the end of the screw that retains the nut.I don't believe the screw was staked.Should screw right off.

Actually Ken T2, I did modify a flat tipped screwdriver and they spin independent of the other, therefore the damn screw is staked. Not trying to say that's the way it was planned, just saying that's what I have.

If the screws are turning independently of each other I assume you mean that you can have a screwdriver on the screwhead and the modified screwdriver on the nut and can turn them in opposite directions without unscrewing. If the screw is staked the nut should not turn. You may have stripped threads on the screw. If you believe the screw is staked grind or file the end of the screw to remove staking and try again. The screw itself may be broken inside the sight leaf?
