Note the P14 or Model 1917 rifles,..im not sure but didn't the regular Brit Army use the SMLE

I would say P14 as there doses not appear to be any paint on the stocks.

That would be a really neat photo to see.

Here it is....

The photo appears in the Time-Life series on World War Two, the book called 'Prisoners of War'. Photo was taken by Angelo Spinelli, who was in the US Army Signal Corps, and obtained a camera from a German POW camp guard while a prisoner.

I couldn't find a photo online, so I've taken a photo of the page in the book...just goes to show that although the Internet is a great resource, there is probably far more information out there in books...
