just checked their website, there are 8 different model for p226:
1.SAS,blackwater and equinox(they are out of SS model) have lightweight black hard-anodized alloy frame.
2.Stainless version uses stainless material in both slide and frame. that's true.
3.for other model,I can't see if the frame is alloy or alluminium and the slide is stainless or not.

generally,you are right,I was bull####:D

only the ST have stainless frame and slide...the rest of the Sig226 line have aluminum frame. The Navy has the special coating and the BW has special finish!

SAS,blackwater and equinox(they are rest of p226 line:D ) have lightweight black hard-anodized alloy frame. I think alloy is better than aluminium.

Alloy=aluminium alloy. All are the same.

Uhh....aluminium alloy is what the standard frames are made from. Alloys are just mixtures. Basically anything you see marked as aluminium for a product, they are refering to aluminium alloy.

Yes, all north american market produced slides are now machined stainless. The original style of stamped steel as Redleg mentioned is still available in Europe. Occasionally, some special edition models make it across to these shores.

thanks,now I am clear thoroughly...but what's the points for blackwater version? 5 mags,extra wood grip and a "blackwater" sign?

Aren't you the dude who just bought a Blackwater edition P226? Wouldn't you know what you paid for?

Yes, basically it is just a P226...but you get the night sights(different coloured I think?), you get the thicker woodgrips(apparently some find it too think...don't think they are as think as the Hogues though. I have the fingered Hogues, great for recoil, but rounds out the grip and splays my fingers awkwardly, affects my shooting badly)

You also get front serrations and a neat little Blackwater sign.

I bought blackwater accidentally....because the dealer let me wait too long and offered me a good price,I couldn't resist to buy...to some extent,I am a impulsive buyer:redface: the night sights are pretty good, front sight is orange while rear sight is green.

TSE has just received a large SIG shipment in. To further muddy the waters, there is now a model called the Nickel, which looks just loke a Stainless gun, but has an alloy (Aluminum) frame.
Check out our section for prices and availability of models.

TSE, are you guys interested at all in bringing in a couple 229's a la Questar? I've talked to them, and they have no Sig connections.

You've brought in a few Kimber pistols, how about Sig?

We tried talking to Questar before and got the polite "PFO" email...

We have in the past, however the prices on them were prohibitive, and they don't move very fast.
