P226 calibre xchange (sig experts chime in please)

Hey guys,
I have a 91 (kb) west German P226, and was hoping to put a .357 Sig calibre exchange kit on it. I am just curious if the older sigs will put up with the higher pressures of the. 357 Sig/.40 s&w. I'm not sure on what differences there are in frame integrity between this and the new Sigs, so I thought I'd ask.

I am not sure if you are going to be able to do what you are trying to do, although it might fit your frame and cycle no problem you might encounter different problems later down the road, My 2 cents:
My advice is that you call SIG and ask them about this, the old german frames used to have different tolerances. This changed before the milled slide design, basically, the older sig would crack after 10 thousand shots (late 80's), that is when they made the frames thicker and years later due to bigger calibers they changed the stamped slide to a milled design in order to make the slide heavier allowing for a slower blow back. So, If I was you, I would call Sig instead of following internet advocacy just to make sure you will not crack your frame in the next 5K rounds.

I would recommend doing the same as avendia said already. I have a .22 exchange kit for my P220 and it's awesome, however since it's not fitted and tuned from the factory to that specific gun, it wears down some of the frame where the slide contacts it. That's the only downside but in your case, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask before.
