P226 Experts? Combat vs. Legion Trigger

I'm very happy with my 226 Combat. It has a short reset trigger, but the DA pull is... very long and challenging.

A new friend at the range gave me a chance to shoot a 226 Legion and the DA pull was smooth and predictable.

Does anybody know if I can get that performance out of my combat? A kit? parts from Sig?

You can try installing a lighter main spring from wolf. I put in a 16lb in and it made a world of difference and really made a difference. The reason I switched to a legion is more the undercut by the trigger card really helps with muzzle flip. I shoot IPSC with legion but I kept my other 226 just shoot for fun.
 
You could send it to Robert Burke(The SIG Armorer), or Bruce Gray. Aside from the red tape, you will wait likely 6 months to get your Combat back from Bruce Gray. Robert Burke will be shorter.

If it were me, I'd get the Legion DA/SA, or preferably the Legion SAO.
 
From my understanding, you can simply buy the Grey Guns trigger kit from Brownells for under $100. I may be wrong there but I'm pretty sure I saw them listed last summer.
Alternately you can spend a couple hundred bucks with a talented gunsmith.

That would be awesome! Sadly, I don't see Gray Guns on Brownell's. I don't think he exports to Canada.
 
There are a couple things I didn't like about the Legion, so I'm inclined to get the combat up to speed. I think I'll experiment with springs and take the action apart to better understand it. 60-80% improvement for 10% cost is very good value in my books.
 
The P226 was my first firearm that I took apart to learn about how things work. Its not too difficult if you have some basic tools. I was interested in trying to lighten up the trigger on it and watched a number of Youtube videos on how to polish the key components. After spending few hours polishing, I put in the SRT kit and the GrayGuns adjustable trigger and spring kit and was able to get the SA trigger pull down to 3 lb 4 Oz. YMMV. The trigger is short and crisp and I learned a lot. In the end, I am sure a Legion is better and a qualified gunsmith could have done better but I have a good time doing it myself.
