P226 LDC or CZ Shadow 2

I just purchased a 226, after trying my buddies. The CZ's don't feel right in my hands, and the sights left me cold.

The one thing that kept me from the LDC version of the SIG was the lack of holsters for it.

You guys are blessed having somewhere you can actually handle the guns in question first

Anyone know of a place in the Okanagan area where any of these are stocked/can be handled?

Quick question - am I correct in saying the sights on the CZ Shadow 1&2s are elevation adjustable only but The Sig LDC sights are adjustable for both windage and elevation?

No you would be wrong. The Shadow sights are adjustable for windage only. No idea about the SIG. It comes with fixed sights then windage only.

Take Care

Please bear in mind I am referring to the type of adjustment made with a screw dial - after researching this a little more it seems the CZ Shadow 2 does have an elevation screw for adjustment and can be adjusted for windage by slackening the sight and sliding it over slightly (taken straight from the Shadow 2 manual):

This is a picture of the P226 LDC which suggests is has dials for both Windage and Elevation:

I have owned 3 sig p226's, DAK in .40, MK25 9mm and now the blackwater in 9mm. I kept the backwater, sigs are very nice.
But I have to admit, I prefer my shadow 2. The trigger, feel and controls are better for me. I'd say try either, you can't go wrong.. but if you're looking for a deal on a shadow 2 gotenda has them on for 1199 with free shipping.

Got a link? I did look but couldn't find that deal

Anyone know the trigger pull weights on the pistols in question?

SIG P226 LDC

CZ Shadow 2

SIG P226 Legion SAO

I`ve had a look around on the net but getting a bunch of different values so don't know what to believe

Trigger pull on the P226 (LDC and Legion or any 226) is 10lbs in DA and 4.4lbs in SA. This can be reduced with a reduce power mainspring. I can't recall which weight mainspring (18lbs sounds familiar) I installed but it dropped my DA to around 9lb and SA to 3.5lbs. I tried a lighter spring but had light primer strikes. Turns out I'll have to install a reduced power firing pin spring as well but I'm waiting to do that when next I disassemble my slide as I'm supposed to use a new roll pin after removing the current one. Just got another 3.5K rounds to go.

Trigger pull on the S2 is 10lbs in DA and 3.5lbs in SA. This can be reduced with a reduce power mainspring. I'm currently sitting at 7.5lbs DA and right at 2lbs in SA.

Wow - thats pretty low, what spring did you switch to? I imagine it has a positive effect on accuracy?

I'm running a 10lb mainspring along with a reduced power firing pin spring. So far 100% strikes on CCI, Dominion and S&B primers. I did a full strip and polished up the parts and that shaved a 1/4lb off SA. Accuracy in DA improved greatly indeed esp if on the clock. I wasn't doing too bad stock DA but just took a much longer time with a really deliberate s-l-o-w squeeze. I don't want to go anywhere less than 2lbs SA trigger.

Sounds like a nice setup

So where did you get the parts (10lb spring etc)?

And does anyone know if its possible to get a flat trigger for the DA/SA Shadows? I`ve taken a real shine to them recently after installing one in my P320

Got my parts from ipscstore.eu. As far as I know those flat triggers are only SAO.

Thanks for the link

I`ve had a poke around on the net and did find some flat triggers for the Shadow 2 but they weren't in Canada.......

Maybe in time they'll be sold as an option
