Have the stock P226 grips on my 226 ST. I have a stainless nitron (AKA black stainless) that comes with hogue rubbers, on order. I want to change 'em out as soon as it arrives.
Which Sig grips do you like?
I LOVE the look of the aluminum ones, like this on the dark elite

I see some in the EE for 200, too rich for my blood!

I don't feel the 226 grip is too big, but wouldn't mind it smaller either, so the E2 grips look tempting. But if I get the E2 kit with the new springs and all, would it be easy to turn it back into ordinary grip?

Or hogue g10s

Seeing as how this is Canada, it's difficult to try them all so I rely on opinions. I'm looking to spend no more than a hundred bucks.

I do not own a SIG but I have a German made p220 in 9mm coming and I am thinking of getting some nill grips. DAMN ###y grips...

wish SIG had a P226 Enhanced Elite without the beavertail..would be nice to get the E2 grips, front slide checkering, night sights and SRT in a factory package...without the beavertail.

Anyway...E2 grips get my vote :D

Had this pistol, aluminum grips came with the 2-Tone Platinum Enchanced Elite , so not sure where they are available... (sold this pistol).

I really like the set of Sig aluminum grips I got for my 229. They were a little steep but well worth it considering the original wood grips were way too fat for my hands.

Got mine from Questar; whatever they don't have in stock they can usually order in.

mine arent for looks...but i have hogue wrap around molded on both my 226 and 220.
i love them. they look alright but function great!

I have the platinum elite as shown above and love those aluminum grips. I have the e2 as well and it doesn't fit that well in my hands , no room for off hand palm. The girlfriend loves the e2 though so it's about your fit.

226 Black Stainless? Who Ordered it for you? I tried for 2 months to get someone to order it for me and gave up after hearing all the "discontinued" copouts.
Settled on ordering a 226 9mm Stainless Elite and a 220 .45 Black Stainless instead. The 226 Stainless Elite comes with the rosewood grips but I would much sooner have the Hogue grips that come with your Black Stainless so when you get it you have a buyer for your grips if you're interested . . . ;)

My personal favorites are Hogue checkered G-10 and SIG factory aluminium. They both have roughly the same profile. The G10 don't look that good in real though, but they're really grippy and durable. BTW the aluminium grips you've seen on the Elite Dark are discontinued and the new model doesn't look as good :)

Concerning the E2; to install them you need to change the plastic mainspring housing and hammer strut. You use the same main spring. Once it's swapped, you can install normal or E2 grips. My beef with them is that it changes the grip angle and it's a no go for me.

As a side note you should review your budget:
G10=~140$ (Taxed and shipped/dutied direct from Hogue)
Aluminium =~240$+tx (Questar; I have some on EE)
E2= ~90$+tx (Questar)

Good luck in your hunt!

I have a set of Sig black aluminum grips on my P226, and I have a set of Hogue black G10 grips on my Sig P220.

Both are very nice. The aluminum grips have a nicer appearance than the G10 material, however if you create any damage to the black surface finish, you can see the bright aluminum in these areas. They also feel colder/warmer than the G10 grips.

The Houge G10 grips don't look as "purdy" as the aluminum ones, but I think they are more practical.

I run VZ composite grips on all of my 1911's for the same reason.

Got Hogues on my SP01 Shadow. Love them - have held the aluminium clad Canadian-SP01 but don't think I would like it as much though it does look flashier.

I have both the Hogue Alum. and G-10's on my Sigs and I agree that the Alums, look nicer but can be damaged easier. The G-10's are a better option in my opinion and they don't heat up in the sun or get as cold as the alums. do in cold weather. The G-10's also come in a variety of colours and textures.

E2 feels nice, but too small for me
I have G10 on my scorpion. I like them they are aggressive.
I have the hogue rubbers on my other gun, fits great. And very positive control.

And I have a nice set of wood grips on my never shot gun. Collector piece.
