To all you P226/Sig experts out there,

I'm looking for a 9mm P226 that looks identical to the MK25 minus the anchor. Or the P226 Combat but in all black. The only P226s I seem to be able to find are the ones with the newer enhanced (E2?) grips which I really, really don't like or with that beaver tail. I want the model that comes with the other grips that say "P226" on the side.

Any idea who carries these?

Thanks in advance guys!

Are they interchangeable? The grips I'm looking for are screwed in with two big screws. Those E2 grips don't seem to have screws holding them in place... Are there holes underneath?

This is what I'm looking for:

This is what I've found but don't want:

The shape of the grip is different too.

Most grips you can order right from Sig. You might find some aftermarket grips you like even more too.

I would not really waste my time looking for a used one. Most guns on EE are in un acceptable shape for the price. I have no idea how people do not take better care of there fire arm. Scratches and scrapes on almost every one. There is a ton of 9mm P226 in stock every where. I know this because I am looking for one in 40sw every time I find the one I want its in 9mm lol.

Grips are changable, I like the E2 grips and I added them to all my sigs, they just snap off and you screw in the other ones, it'll have the holes in the frame. The rest are easy to change too.. like the SRT kits etc.. You can get the kits for $50 and it takes about 30 seconds to install them.

Sig won't ship to Canada.

I had a base Sig 226 a few years back, with the base grips that you and I both like. It seems that Sig is running with the E2 grips and the old style thicker grips are harder to find. They are definitely on the German refurbs, almost bought one...

And I thought I was the only one who hated the new E2 grips.
No, I'm not a fan either. I like the texture a lot but they make it too hard to get a good high grip. My P226 has the grips the OP is after (I thought at first it was my picture :) )--they are among my favourite factory pistol grips.

So in other words... an entirely stock current production P226. :p

Surely it must be possible to order one from R Nicholls.

I've said this before about SIG-Sauer guns, they get too carried away now, got those CNC machines, have to use them.

The beavertail is utterly pointless and the SRT I have to say doesn't appear to help much if at all.

And you can't just take the E2 and change the grips, the trigger has to be replaced too.

This is quite bizarre actually, just looking at: http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p226.aspx

The basic P226 simply isn't there. Under P226 it shows the gun with the E2 grip and short trigger.

The two-tone is the closest to what the OP wants. Also there is the black stainless but that has the stainless steel frame (which is better for target shooting).

Not only is there no basic 9mm P226 but there is no basic .40 P226. Once again it is either the two-tone or the elite models with the stupid beavertail.

Found this: http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/CmsContent/documents/2013 LE Price List - IOP 01-29-2013.pdf

Once again, the standard P226 isn't listed.

????

So yeah I guess you've got to buy a "standard" P226 and swap out the trigger and the grips.
