New to the pistol scene and I am looking for some help in locating a dealership in Alberta that carries the P226 allround. I have been searching for only a short time and have found dealers in Alberta carring Sigs but not the allround. I am also not sure of the current Canadian price (Sig/Sauer has prices listed on their site) and I worry that should I have to special order that it could jack the price immensely. I have never shot a Sig let alone the Allround but I know this is the one for me so there will be no changing my mind :p. Any help on this would be much appreciated, thank-you kindley.

Although they are not in Alberta, try Wolverine Supplies. If they don't have one in stock, they will almost certainly be able to special order it.

Hey Brent,

Rob here... try Wolverine Supplies (they have an ad at the top of page). Go to their products menu, handguns, sig, and then download the sig price list. Looks like the X5 Allround is $2K and change.

I ordered mine through Target... got the allround package deal! As stated Epps shows this packege as in stock, and its a great deal too. You get the gun, 5mags, belt, holster, mag pouches an awsum range bag, shirt & size super xtra large tshirt. I think I paid about $2209 + tx

Rumer has it the x5 allround isnt on the 2008 price list, so its belived they may have stopped production of the allround.

Pricing

Quick couple of questions about the price listings on the Sig Sauer site. What currency are they in and what should be the expected mark up on those prices from retailers here in Canada. Second can one order and would it be cheaper, including shipping costs, to order direct from the Sig Sauer site?

Cheers,

Brent

Brent Sigarms site is MSRP in USD. After everything is said and done, it should be roughly the same price as ordering from a Canadian Dealer. As mentioned above, Wolverine, Questar, P&D & TSE would be able to order them for you if they didn't already have one in stock for you.

Right on, thanks Justin, helps me to get an overall idea on what I should be paying as compared to some I've come across with an extremely high mark up. I have checked the Epps site RT and thanks for the direction there. I am not sure that I want more than just the pistol and the 2 mags for now. I have just finished school and I am having to buget a bit for this purchase even though I think the value of the package appears to be good to me. I am sure I will have more questions about this topic in the future and much appreciate the help I have been give so far. If either of you come across an actual price list with just the pistol and included mags, please let me know. Until the next question:), cheers,

Brent

Brent...Wolverine has Pistol with Mags listed on their site!

Thanks Rt,

Just checked wolverine and they are about 600-700 higher than some of the other places I have contacted for the Allround pricing and for 200 bucks more that package would appear to be a better deal. Thanks again Rt I might just have to try and get one sent up to the store I work for, even with shipping it will end up under 1400, but would it be worth the hassle, I think so:D. If it does become a hassle I might go for the Elite stainless though I don't like the light mounting grooves as much. I just really like the look of the X5 allround. The lack of the mag-well, the length esp. when combined with the beavertail, keeps me going back to look at it everytime I am on the Sig site. If you see pricing on the elite stainless/night sights please let me know, thanks again,

Cheers,

Brent

Hey Brent here is a pic of my ALLROUND with my ELITE, AND MY 226 ST. Have you checked avaiability of the allround? Apparently its not on the 2008 SIG price list! I had to order my ELITE...took about 5 months to get it.
Oh ya...Im actually looking for a mag well for the X5. Makes a big difference.

Personally I think getting an Elite and getting a trigger job on it is the way to go. Availability of the X-5 is spotty, and the major parts are specific to the X-5 and hard to get.

I very nearly bought an X-5 in .40 but after I used one I came to the conclusion it was too heavy. I bought a P226ST and customized it, took awhile but I saved a bundle and it works great. Probably not quite as accurate but who shoots bullseye with a .40 anyway? Parts are much easier to get, so it's easier to fiddle with it.

A beavertail on a P226 is totally and utterly pointless. Never in my life have I had hammer bite on a P226, it is purely cosmetic. I heard someone say it helped with muzzle control, meh, I doubt it. Not in my hands anyway. Not that you have a choice unless you buy a regular P226 because the P226 ST was replaced with the Elite.

Avaiability of the X5 is spotty, however it is a high end pistol. So far, as near as I can see, the frame parts on my ALLROUND are the same as on my other 226s. On the top end the guid rod, recoil spring, barrel are all deffinetly different than the standard 226. Ejector, extactor, firing pin/spring are very likly standard 226 but I havnt got that far into it to no for sure.

Love the pic RT. I had talked to a dealer out of Florida yesterday and he gave me a price for the X5 All, but said that he could no longer get the Allround. He said he was sort of but not really informed directly from Sig on the stoppage of production and believes that do to the volume of Sigs he deals in that this is an indicator that they are no longer making them anymore. If this is the case then I might settle for the Comp. if the price is right. To me the magwell makes the gun look a bit toyish but do see functionality of it and in the end it doesn't matter anyway, because, it will be an exceptionally funnnnnnn toy:D!!! RT you may have changed my mind after all;). Off to research some more, back in a bit.

Cheers,

Brent

Would love to see a pic of your ST Steve. You make some very valid points about parts and availability. In fact I was having the same discussion just the other day with a co-worker. This rethink is what led me to entertain the Elite. I still like the beavertail soley for its cosmetic purpose, as you had mentioned. So I feel that by going with the Elite I will lose some length but still get the look I want and have less headache should I run into parts problems. This is good. Thanks Steve, much more to think about. I am still having troubles matching pricing with the model codes for each gun as the codes are different to each dealer. If you should see a Canadian price for the Stainless Elite new, please let me know everyone.

Thanks again,

Brent
