Has anyone here bought one of these Sigs? If so, how good are they?
I'm looking to buy a 40S&W and looking for info on this gun.

I haven't checked into it so I may be wrong, but I thought the X5 was 9mm only. There are guys on sigforum who like em so much they own two. There are some rumours flying around re: sig not continuing production. I'm not trying to start rumours, but check into it.

Edit: they are avail in 40, sorry.

They are still being produced in Europe. Only SigArms USA is no longer importing them...

What? It's not because Ted Rowe found out they weren't any good for hunting coyotes is it? :runaway:

(If anyone gets that joke, I'll be impressed.)

The pistol doesn't just come by itself and two mags. It comes with 4 mags, a large range bag, some plastic holster equipment and a couple of other things, cant remember....

The pistol is all steel, unlike a 226 which is alloy frame/steel feed ramp. It is tight as frickin hell and the trigger, single action is a cool 2 and a bit lbs. The trigger distance is can be adjusted as well as the trigger pull! Its a sweet gun to say the least. It is pricey, but you have to know why you're paying the money for it. Its a target/competition pistol. Knowing that SIG's in general are really, really accurate out of the box, this pistol would shoot better than the average shooter (like me).

Knowing that, I think its well worth it. It should be a gun that you wouldn't want to get rid of for any reason, and would probably still shoot like the damn blazes after thousands of rounds. My opinion. :)

Sig 226 X-5 Competition

According to Sigs website it's capable of < 2" at 50 yds. MSRP is $1,699.95 U.S. That sounds reasonable to me. GunsAmerica auction has one for $1,750 NIB. There's a dealer in Canada that wants almost double that price.

Accurate pistol - however I found that the grip was large.
I would strongly recommend that you try to get your hands arond one before you buy it...

Can they still be imported directly from Germany ? If so, are there any plans to import them.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Henry

The grip is no where near fat. I actually got the fully decked out version of the X-Five. No matter how you look at it, the fit and finish to the amazing accuarcy out of the box and being able to adjust your own trigger pull weight, this gun is worth every penny. Unfortunately for me, I went out and sold mine, and now I've got sellers remorse. So I went out and ordered me a P210 to compensate for my loss.

Justin...where`d you order the 210 from ??

Didn't order it per-say. I bought one off of a local guy that had his for sale. There's one for sale here on the EE, I'll PM you the link if I can find it again.
