P320 vs. SFP9

P320 is my current fav... Love it. Admittedly have not handled an HK, but every other striker fired and the P320 feels the best (to me.)

The top three have been mentioned here. Mags and holsters are readily available. They are all probably equal in the accuracy department. So in reality, it will boil down to which feels best in your hand and if the controls work for you.

I always use the "blind test." Get a good comfortable grip, close your eyes and raise the pistol up to the firing position, open eyes, and see which if any have the closest point of aim on your imaginary target. Don't adjust to find the target. That might be the deciding factor.

You made a good choice.
Been shooting the M&P9 workhorse for years (current one has over 5000rnds thru pipe without a clean. Not even a borsesnake!!)
But handled a friends SFP9 and now am on the hunt for one.
Loved the feel, and all the reviews, I mean ALL, Have been positive.
As a leftie a bonus is the ambi ergos.
Can't wait to pick one up and let her loose.

I'd be interested to hear an after action report on yours......

I can only speak for the P320. I have approx 4000 rds through mine in the last year and I absolutely love it. If the grip isn't to your satisfaction, grip modules available for $50 bucks or so. This is my go to pistol for IPSC and IDPA shoots.

You can't beat the PPQ M2 Q5. Ergos are terrific along with it's amazing trigger, match barrel and accuracy.

Tried both. I like the P320 trigger better. But I like the feel of the VP9 better.

I do not like the trigger on the VP9. Reset is horrible.

So basically. I would buy the P320 unless there is a trigger job available for the VP9.

Sorry for derailing this thread a bit.

For those commenting about other makes, here is my take:
The true story is told when you compare a PPQ vs PP5 5" q5 and see if there is a difference in your split times.
It looks like a very good platform in paper, personally, I tried the Walthers and they are rugged but there are better platforms out there....

Anyway, I have been always in love with HK but it was more a romantic thing than anything else because the build quality of an HK is unseen in any other gun, and although I managed to shoot them very well, I can shoot a Glock faster.

So, out of this two, I would still pick the HK VP9 by a good margin over the 320.

Sidenote, I am currently shooting a Grand Power X Calibur and I would not trade it for any other gun at the moment.

Sorry for derailing this thread earlier. I must admit that to me the P320 is an excellent pistol. My current version that I owned and recently sold, is the P320 - .40S&W. My original intention was to replace it with the 9MM version. However, I'm going to have a serious look at the H&K VP9 before making my decision.

Take a look at the cost and availability of parts for the HK. Recoil spring assemblies, striker springs and assemblies and magazine springs and followers in particular. Make sure they're available, and buy them before you need them. Availability and scary cost of spares is HK's Achilles heel

Exactly why I sold my P30L in the past...
