I am looking at a new pistol because, why not. I am looking at the Sig P320 X5 and the X5 Legion. The main difference is the added weight in the grip frame of the Legion and the improved trigger. The trigger is easily upgraded in the X5 to the Legion trigger so the main advantage is the added 15oz or so in the Legion.

Anyone shot both have an opinion on one over the other? It would be an IDPA/IPSC pistol so would stay stock.

Owned both. Trigger is identical. The weighted grip frame gives the legion a large advantage on how easily it points and sucks up the recoil. Absolutely love my X5 legion and use it for all my 3 gun matches.

So main diff is:
- Trigger bar inside is same as the manual safety version
- Skeletonized trigger
- Slightly longer slide
- OEM bull barrel
- Cut out slide
- Cerakoted finish
- Tungsten infused grip
- ADJUSTABLE rear sight
- Fiber optic front sight
- 1911 type spring (you can “tune” the recoil)

Internals have no other differences, it’s worth the money because if you build a faux Legion: (Pricing is approximate based on Canadian purchase prices…)

- TXG grip ($350)
- Bull barrel ($400)
- Skeletonized Trigger ($150)
- Dawson Precision sights ($100) but only the front you can’t add the adjustable.
- Guide rod ($60)
- Guide rod springs ($40)
- Magwell ($100)

If you add everything up, plus adding the fact that you can’t have certain things like the extended slide or the Adjustable rear sight, the added $300-$400 Makes more sense. I don’t have the Legion but I hear a lot of good things from anybody that did get it, they generally don’t have buyers remorse.

I think you are comparing a regular P320 to an X5 Legion. The OP asked for the differences between the X5 and the X5 Legion.

Is this the list of things that are found in any "Legion" version of a Sig?

Ah, yeah I missed that. So then there’s a bit more similarity then.

- Flat trigger (X5) vs. Skeletonized flat (Legion)
- Romeo 1 cutout (X5) vs. Romeo 1 pro (Legion)
- Polymer grip (X5) vs. Tungsten Infused Polymer (Legion)
- Mags MIGHT be different. The Legion comes with a Henning Aluminum base plate with “Legion chevron” logo. I’m not sure if the standard x5 has that kind of base plate or the standard polymer ones.

I would still consider getting the Legion over the X5. The tungsten grip alone will feel much nicer. Unless of course you don’t want such a heavy gun.

Legion has a magwell and 3 magazines with basepad.

Do yourself a favour. Buy a legion. I never shot my X5 again once I bought the legion. Feel free to pm me your phone number and we can text if you have questions.
