I'm thinking of liquidating my pistol collection but would still like to have one incase the gov't changes something with the RPALs. Does any one have any suggestions for a cheap restricted?

I was thinking a P38 (some are cheap if it is not a surplus collector) or a Tokarev (I missed out on a cheap Tokagypt that had a 7.62X25 and a 9mm barrel).

I'm not too fond of Norinko's.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help,

Scott

I would get the P38/P1 over the Tokarev.

-9mm ammo will always be available whereas 7.62x25 stocks may dry up
-Better workmanship
-More accurate
-9mm is less work to reload, as carbide dies don't require case lube. There are no carbide dies for 7.62x25.
-Easier to find 9mm components
-Most 7.62x25 ammo on the market is steel cored or steel jacketed, which isn't allowed in most indoor ranges.

The only downside for the P38/P1 that I can think of is that they are less durable than a Tokarev. That said, this is probably a non-issue unless you run a huge number of rounds through it. You will still have to spend several times the cost of the gun in ammunition to wear it out.
