P7M13 - Prohibited?

My hands are quite large so I don't think the grip will be a problem, and if it is, well, I'll just have to save up for a M8 as well. Man, I need a cheaper addiction. I don't think crack would cost me this much. LOL.

Wow, I didnt know they were that much. Thats a lot of coin for a funny lookin' gun.

They've even come down in price. The P7M8 was listed at $1950 with Wolverine last year. I've see used M13s, with no mags, go for $2200.

AG is rumoured to be the absolute last production year, and the P7 series is not even listed on the HKJS website. It may be now or never for the new stuff.

Having previously owned a P7M13 21 years ago I don't get the hype on these pistols either and at current prices the title of the tread should be "P7M13 - prohibitive?"" as in cost prohibitive. I can't see how you guys can spend that much on one but to each his own, hope you enjoy them a lot.:D :dancingbanana:

P7 mag changes

The P7M13 has a very blocky grip and I don't find it comfortable (at all). The P7M8 is a nicer pistol IMO. Especially in Canada, because of the ten-round magazine restriction. There are a lot of surplus P7s from the German Interior Ministry floating about in the US at the moment, you might be able to get one imported. The original P7 is a nice pistol, it just gets a bit hot. And mag changes take forever.

I beg to differ with regards to the mag changes. I have four mags for my P7 and all the mags eject so quickly that I haven't found a semi-auto ( and that includes my Springfield .38Super IPSC gun) that does the job more expeditiously.
As for mag changes, you need to practice as with any pistol.:http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/images/smilies/Banane01.gif

We will of course require a range report. Congrats! Oh by the way, you told her you were buying this pistol? Rookie mistake. LOL.
