P90 Video

Sweet piece!!! I am usually not a safety nazi but it looks like he assembled the weapon with a full mag and with his finger on the trigger installs what looks to be the front sling and covers the muzzle with his hand. Not cool.

I like the P90 for the design and what they tried to achieve, but the 5.7mm rd is not that great of a man stopper, if you are not using the SS190 rds it's marginal. Like to see this gun in something like a 7.63x25.

Shot placement > stopping power.

It's probably mainly designed for law enforcement use rather than military since it goes through kevlar and you know those evil terrorists wear AK mags rather than sissy kevlars.

They did market it to the forces, mind you this was the same time the Brits were working on the 4.85mm round, so small was the fashion of the day.

4.85mm went out around 1980, the P90 didn't appear until around 1990.

The reason the P90 hasn't been adopted in large numbers by anyone is because NATO is infighting over the PDW specifications. Germany wants the H&K 4.6x30mm round, and everyone else who has expressed an opinion wants the FN 5.7mm round, which is superior. Until they agree, there won't be a NATO PDW standard.

Having fired a P90, I can say it was a real fun gun to shoot, compact, lots of ammo, quick on target, and good for the niche it was designed to fit.

It's not a first-line assault rifle, but for the guys in the rear with the gear, it's probably just what the doc ordered.

1. Light
2. Easily slung (gets out of the person's way when they're doing whatever they think is more important.)
3. Lots of ammo (so they can spray-and-pray, rear guys aren't always as well trained as those on the sharp end for fire-discipline)
4. Capable at short range (on a base, or in the rear, targets will likely show up in close proximity, at short notice)
5. Capable of defeating body armour (SF and most other guys at the sharp end wear it now, so you want to be able to defeat the people showing up unexpectedly in your rear areas.)
6. Low recoil (see #3 regarding training, gives them a better chance to hit what they're spraying at)

Importation should come from Europe! :D

Then we wouldn't have the stupid 16" barrel rule and US made parts to comply with the content rule.

Apparently there are semi-only P90s off the factory.

Then what's everyone waiting for? :D

I would take OD... don't know what everyone in the US is complaining about wrt colour.

Those guys are the distributors for Canada. Who does Nicholls have a deal with, FN USA and/or FN Herstal?

Importing from a source removed from FN USA might be the solution, preferably an overseas source.
