P90 with .22lr and First Training Rifle

"I've been very satisfied with my MP9 (pistol obviously, and my first firearm) at the range, .....(I'm a noob, and still waiting for PAL in hand),"

How can you own an MP9 and still be waiting for a PAL? You should have an RPAL already to own the mp9.

To answer the P90 question...

There has been no news in several months about the P90 rimfire conversion, so it may be a no go, or it may just be in development. I am eagerly awaiting it to put on my P90, as full cap magazines in .22 would rock.

DO NOT attempt to take a 10/22 and put it in an airsoft stock. You will have created a prohibited weapon by turning that 10/22 into a bulpup rifle.

For a shotgun, the Mossberg 88 would do you fine, but have a look at the Reminton 870 series. It is America's favorate pump shotgun after all.

If you want a short barrel on the 870 series, thats a good bit of extra $$$.

A good substiute is the Norinco copy of the 870. This dealer is out of stock, but you should be able to find one with a small amount of looking around. Under $400.

Yeh I saw the Norinco tactical for around $300. Looks like my buy American (or Canadian but not much on the budget side) is slapping me in the face. lol I guess the commie's are getting my money :( going to have to sleep on that lol

Meh. Most guys on this board have a few commie guns. They just make up for it on their next purchase when they buy North American. ;)

If your interested in the tactical look. Mossberg has a list of shotguns in a tactical look. One of my favorites is the 590a1. That is one ###y girl. HEHE I'm in the same boat as you waiting for the pal and excited for the first purchase. I've set one on layaway at EPPs. Mossberg tac .22. Great for plinking. Looking to pick up a shotgun after that. Likely the mossberg. Good luck.

If that is the norinco homeland security 780 i watched a pile of video on utube and they all seem to be bad for jamming. Barely able to fire with out a jam. Lots of nice norincos out there. This seems to be one i'd stay away from.

Different gun, but agreed. The 780 is garbage, I have owned and sold one in the past.

Haha great Ice and Kevin, Thanks!

@ Kevin, I guess, time to sell half of my soul and buy a commie gun hahaha jk.

@ Ice, well its my second. I've already been playing with the MP9 I purchased (Read the first page for clarification if your looking to do the same, that way even if its like once a week or so you get a chance to play with it at the range).

I am now pretty much stuck with the either the Norinco tactical shotgun (for around $300) or the MP 15-22 w/compensator ($530+tax, but everyone seems to recommend it for the best plinker version of an AR---researched alot of US websites for it too)...Does anyone know if the MP15-22 here requires a 10round maximum? I'm not sure but I thought rimfires didn't require a maximum amount of rounds :p

Thanks for the help so far guys, keep on posting :) haha

Stupid rulings make the S&W limited to 10 rounds.

As you know, all pistols are limited to 10. S&W made a pistol version of the M&P15/22, and the magazines are interchangable, therefore they must be pinned to 10 as they are considered to be a "Pistol magazine"

Hey Kevin, thanks for the reply. I just asked Lanz a while ago, but havent gotten a response yet probably because its night+easter.......can you buy the blackdog drum for the 15-22? If so, lol, how long before the gov picks up on that too?

AFAIK, Black Dog drums are 100% fine, as Black Dog don't have a .22 pistol for their mags.

I don't own one, so I can't comment on if it fits or not though.
