Hello

Just wondering is anyone has done this and if it works.
Removing Walther PPQ threaded barrel and replacing with a P99 latest generation barrel.

I currently own a new P99 and was considering buying a PPQ navy and using that shorter barrel.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
CB

Yes it works fine. I have had a P99QA barrel in my PPQ Navy since day 1, no issues.

For all generations of P99?

I have a question for someone with the Walther PPQ Navy. I want to buy this gun and shorten the barrel by removing the Threaded end. Does anyone know exactly how long the remaining barrel behind the thread is? It needs to be at least 106 mm which would be great since I don't really like the threaded part and have no use for it. I would just like a shorter barrel for the PPQ that meets Canadian Legal requirements and this seems the only way to do it. Nobody seems to sell the Walther PPQ with a barrel for Canada except for the Navy version.

If you hold a 106mm P99 barrel against the PPQ Navy barrel, it will end exactly before the thread. So... If you cut the threads off exactly on the last thread and re-crown the barrel, You will get 106mm out of it. Be carefull, I took the PPQ barrel to a gun smith and he told me I couldnt because it would then be 104mm. After comparing it to my P99 barrel, you can. It all depends on where the barrel measurement is taken from. Walther Germany measures from a different location then other manufactures or gunsmiths, as iv'e read on the Walther Forums.

Ok, just wanted to clear something up. Latest generation P99 Pistol barrels are fully interchangeable with the PPQ. Generation 1 P99 barrels have a shorter feed ramp and a different cutout for the trigger bar on one side of the barrel. Not sure about other models, but the current Generation 3 P99 AS and P99QA barrels ARE identical and function perfectly. I spoke to Walther themselves and another authorized importer/repair shop in the USA regarding this question.

At ease my friends.
And BTW PPQ Navy with 106mm barrel looks sweet!!!!!
