i havent handled any of these yet as no one near me carries any of them and i dont get to edmonton to much and when i do i dont have time to go to P&D but i was wondering what you guys thought of these and whether i should get them in full size or compact and in which caliber i already have a beretta 92fs 9mm and just wondering what you guys thought about the 2 and i know i should go and hold them and see which one fits best but id like to know what the CGNers prefer

USP is built like a tank, however the hand grip is a little large. Very accurate.

Walther P99 is very accurate, adjustable grip (one of the first) allows you to fit it to your hand. If you get the AS trigger you have option of heavy DA, long SA or short SA trigger for first shot, all subsequent shots are short SA. The P99 can be a little fragile, not as tough as HK. The HK equivalent of the P99 would be the P2000 with an LEM trigger.

For both of them, parts can take months to get, so build a kit. Wolverine Supplies has always been able to order my HK parts for me.

yeah i think i want a USP but i dont know what caliber or full size or compact

I have a USP and a P30L. I would go with HK and you may want to consider the P30L if you want 9mm with superb ergonomics and its completely ambidextrous. The USP has a blocky large grip for a 9mm but it is more affordable than the P30 or even P99.

I was at my local firearm store not too long ago looking into getting a USP. Held the USP.. it felt nice and solid but I didn't like the fit too much. I also held a SIG P226 and I gotta say, it felt so good in my hands. Fit perfectly! Are you set on a P99 and USP? If not then you should look at SIGs

I have a P99 with a titanium slide and it is the best handgun as far as I am concerned. I did better groups with it then my buddies USP tactical.

i do want a sig but i think ill just get norc copy although i do hate chinese made guns they are seeming pretty promising the more and more i read about them

You should hold a SIG and a Norc copy, can't really compare, SIG are fantastic, they have such a nice feel to it and shoot awesome, everyone who shot my SIG226 likes it over any other semi hand.

Scianna54 is correct. In my hands, the sig is the best but that was not the original question. The P99 and the P2000 will both pinch your hand if you insert a magazine with vigour. If you are carefull you will be ok. You will never pinch your hand with the USP. I have large hands, size 10-11 gloves. If you have small hands, it might not be an issue. Other than that they are quite simmilar. The USP comes in a variety of actions as well and you can change the action type by swapping a couple small plates in the trigger group to go from SA only, to DA/SA, to DAO and has de #### feature as well. I like HK if I was going plastic.

they are both good choices and you can't go wrong with either... but you should figure out how to try both, as you want one that's comfortable for you...

try looking for some used deals in the EE

i've not shot a USP, so i can't do a real comparison, but i can say that i found the P99 to be quite a snappy little gun (i've shot my friend's P99 a bit...at least 70 rounds over the past year).

that said, i've shot quite accurately with it.

honestly, you probably can't go wrong with either one. i did find the P99 was more comfortable in the hand, but of course your experience will vary.

Usp

I got lucky a few years ago and picked up my USP .45 full size. I cannot see how anything will ever fail on it, or why I would ever want to pass it on.
