P99 or USP

Get both. They are both quality German made firearms with test targets.

I'd give the upper hand to the P99 for accurate slow fire, but the USP would be more accurate when shooting quickly.

P99 AS hands down. Fits most People right away with the different back straps and is such a piece of art.

After you learn'd shooting this one correctly every other gun and trigger is a piece of cake .

Could you explain how you arrived at that conclusion ? It's all good to give an opinion based on fact but without fact, it is just bad advice.

USP all the way. I have 4 of them...a 9mm, .40S&W, and two .45's (full size and tactical)...don't regret spending a single penny on either one of them. They may be a little thicker or bulkier than other pistols of the same caliber, but they are built well and are very accurate. I don't have very big hands, but I find that the USP series, when compared to other brands, especially in .45 Auto, are alot easier to hold/grip. Don't know if it's because I've become accustomed to my USPs, but they just feel more comfortable than some other pistols.

yeah i have small hands and my beretta is a little big but im used to it now after 500 shots and i like it so im not really concerned on how big it is as long as its not DE big i dont really care but i hear more about the USP then the p99 so i think ill get a usp for a christmas present to myself :)

i have a usp9 in stainless slide. this thing just keeps on going. I use it for ipsc production and idpa. just eats whatever i feed em.

I have a P99 and I love it!
Fit, feel, accuracy, cycles anything I've put through it, including many different powder/charge reloads, perfectly. Of 6 calibers I have, the P99 40 S&W is the new favorite.( Mine is the all German version, FYI )
Don't put a P99 in your hand unless you're prepared to take one home;)
That being said HK will most likely be my next.

I had the same dilemma. USP, P99AS,M&P, Glock 35 or Sig 226. I fired them all and then I found a Springfield XD40. The Springfield won for me. It fits my hand perfectly and it doesn't have that bizarre springy feel that they all have except for my old 1911. Part of the game is the chase for the perfect gun. keep looking and comparing. hanging out at a gun shop on a crappy Saturday isn't the worst way to spend a day

Usp

I just remembered the only problem with the USP. You have to change out the H&K magazine springs with Wolf ones as soon as you purchase the full size USP .45 ACP. The original ones are way to wimpy.

I'd have to agree with Slanto. The HK P30L has the same incredible ergonomics as the Walther, but comes with HK quality and reliability. If you love the P99 for it's 'feel', I'd bet you love the P30L just as much....and it's a little (not much tho) cheaper.....which is unusual because in the states the HK is more expensive. I think the Walther importer likes sticking it to us Cdns.

I had a P99 and it shot everything I threw at it without any malfunction or issues. I traded it and still miss it. My only complaint with it was that it has very snappy recoil compared to most other 9mm.
