According to the Walther website the 9mm P99 has a 4" barrel while the .40 S&W has a 4.12" barrel. Does that mean the 9mm is unavailable in Canada?

Is the QA model available in Canada? I was thinking of .40 S&W which has the longer barrel.
I can answer this as my wifes owns a P99AS 9mm. In Canada, it is sold with a 106mm barrel and sticks out by about 5mm past the end of the slide. Looks okay. The manual has a sticker over the original 102mm length. I did have to dremel the end of the Blade-tech holster I bought her for it though so that the gun seats properly. Great gun by the way. You may also want to look at the M&P which I have - very similar qualities and features. The M&P was about $300 less than the Walther. The Walther is very well built....she's only let me shoot about 20 rounds through it!

Here's picture of my "Canadianized" P99 AS in 9mm with a 106mm barrel:

The QA models are available in Canada, although they seem to be a little less common than the "AS" (SA/DA) models.
