Ive been looking at buying one of these. Any one out there own one and have any input on it( trigger, etc...).Any info much appreciated.
Thanks Craig
It's pretty accurate at 10yds. I'm talking about .40cal don't know about 9mm.

Have you shot one? On 2 occasions, with 2 separate guns, I have had accidental discharge after a shot, the gun fired again, a real fast double tap, the first time I fired 3 shots with 1 trigger pull (or so I thought, might have been a kind of slam fire, I actually think the gun is designed with this capability). The second occasion I fired 2 shots with 1? trigger pull. Pretty scarry. This was with P99 .40cal. I am going to try P99 QA .40cal.

I haven't figured out what all this means, but I would recommend the P99 QA in .40cal (emphasis on the QA). Check out the Smith and Wesson 99 basically the same gun I think. Sorry to be rambling on but my advice is get the P99 QA, not the P99.

I owned the P99 QA in 9mm, it is a Double Action only gun, so not fun to shoot bull's eye. the QA trigger is pretty good, but still it is DAO.
from a reliability perspective, I'd give it 9.2 out of 10
, from accuracy perspective i'd give it 8 out of 10
the SW99 is exactly the same gun. Walther is marketed in north america by SW.
my advice, get a 1911!

i owned a P99 in 9mm /w the DA/SA trigger (had a special name which forgot), i really enjoyed shooting it and was probably the most accurate gun i had, part of that was the way i could hold it, very comfy grip. Also the adj rear sight made for easy adj. and better shots on target. Of course it didn't have a hammer like a 1911 or sig so it was possible to just slightly pull the slide back (less than 1 cm) to #### the firing pin, which was cool.

i have never had any FTF/AD /w the P99, with all the brand and weights of ammo i used

I've had the DA/SA one for a couple years in 9mm and i have had no problems what so ever. very accurate but you will have to get used to the trigger pull. The single action is nice and short but the double action is looong and heavy. I think they call it their anti stress trigger. but if you rack the slide at the range you will only be shooting SA anyways.

I have owned 9mm and 40SW versions of the SA/DA version. The gun can be tailored to your hand and as such, is quite comfortable to hold. The trigger is a big squishy but nothing that cannot be learned.

My big problem with Walther is the warranty stuff. I had a problem with a P22 and the warranty process was a nightmare (over a year to get my gun back). That is the primary reason I don't have a Walther on my "want to buy" list.

Great gun in terms of fitting one's hand and features (DA/SA, decocker, adjustable sights etc). As accurate as a service pistol needs to be.

To bad service is almost non-existent in Canada. Took me several months to replace a broken firing group.

the SW99 is exactly the same gun.

the sw99 is not the same. the german made p99 9mm slides are manufactured in germany and are tenifer treated but the sw99 slides are manufactured in NA i believe and are not tenifer treated
