I own a P9S in 9mm Para. I collect and it's part of my H&K group from when they still did odd and interesting things in design. I also own a VP70Z and P7M8. I don't shoot much any more, and never did shoot in combat matches. If I had a "prohibited" license, I'd get a Model 4 in all four calibers. I used to own one in the US and found it not as good to hold and shoot as it should have been (kind of a re-engineered Mauser HSc), but pretty neat for combining four pistol calibers in a single gun. I'm old, and used to live in the US. I remember from many years ago Masaad Ayoob writing that the .45 P9S was his idea of the perfect police pistol. Of course, being in the writing game, his opinion of "perfect" tended to change pretty regularly as new models from different companies appeared. Still and all, the P9S seems like quite a good design to me. I suspect some of the newer handguns are somewhat more user friendly, but even though it's a bit over-engineered, the P9S has a lot to offer. Enjoy it.
