I want to shoot out to 200-300m with my AR15. I would love the Elcan SpecterOS 4 but that is much more than I want to spend.
Looking around for fixed 3x or 4x scopes, I see the PA 3x and 4x prism scopes are $400, the Vortex Spitfire 3x at $500, and a Nikon P223 3x is around $250 with rings. There's also a Burris prism but I don't think it's better than the PA.
Are there any other choices for under $500? What would you choose? In actual use, what would be the difference between the "regular" Nikon 3x and the prism scopes?
