Pachmayr 1911 grips?

I want to change the grips on my Rock Island Armory 1911 Tactical with a Pachmayr American Legend grips http://www.pachmayr.com/american-legend-grips.php
I have a few question. Will they fit any copy of a 1911? Have you guys any experience with them? Is the ambi safety cause a problem? Do the same grips fit a 45 and 9mm? Who has them for a resonable price? Not that i want you guys to wright a book for me. I just don't want to buy some #### and not like them or order the wrong thing and have to return them. Maybe you guys know another company that makes something similar. Thanks age
 
I have these on my Norinco Police model which is similar to your Rock Island. From what I know about these great grips:

They will fit your Rock Island 1911.

The ambi safety does not interfere.

You can order them directly from the Pachmayr website and they can ship them to you at a decent price.

I think they are very cool looking. Good choice.
 
Hogue makes a few different grips for the 1911. I know that all of the other Hogue grips that I have handled on various other handguns have been the nicest, atleast in my opinion. They even make a plastic Glock feel good.....lol....

"...fit a 45 and 9mm?..." Hi. The only difference is the slide and mag. Frame's the same.
"...and not like them..." Most shops will let you try 'em on before you buy. If they have 'em in stock. Their pistol or your's, if you go to the fuss and bother of an ATT to get it there.
