I have a Kimber Custom II and the first time I shot it I felt uncomfortable the grip was not adequate enough for me, every time I fired I felt like it was going to slip out of my hands... I originally went with the Pachmayr signature grips which at the time seemed like the only choice. Boy was I wrong.... The Pachmayr's at first seemed OK but there was something about them that didn't satisfy me. I decided to go out and get a pair of Hogue's and the difference was night and day. The rubber is way softer and of a higher quality, IMO way better looking. I can also say that the Hogue grips seem to offer a bit of a palm swell and have a more natural feel and grip. I shot my Kimber with both and I can report that both solve the slipping problem, however the Hogue is way more comfortable. Overall I think they both serve their purpose but the Hogue wins on quality and comfort. IMO it also wins on looks, but to each there own. The Pachmayr's help keep that classic look where the Hogue's give the gun a more aggressive tactical look. what do you think?

I have a set of the Grippers, they are nice. Lately Ive been getting back to wood on alot of my guns, its just looks nicer.

:yingyang:Hogues on my BHP and on the S&W 29. Fantastic.
My S&W 19 came with Pachmayr so I switched to a Hogue monogrip. Didn't like it so I went back to the Grippers. Figure that one out!:bangHead:

I use rubber grips on my revolvers only. FWIW, I used to be a Hogue fan until I tried a set of Pachmayr Grippers on my 686. After that I changed out all my revolver grips to Pachmayrs....YMMV.

The only gun that I prefer Pachs over Hogues is my T/C Contender. Target grips fit perfect.

Pach combat grips are the oddest-feeling things I've ever felt.

In addition to the grip change, you might want to consider changing your flat main spring housing to an arched main spring housing. I think that you will find this more comfortable for someone with bigger hands.

Houge wrap around on my 1911, pacs on model 28, Its not the cheapest route to take but i would suggest trying both. You could buy whichever you think would look better. In saying the houges really stick to your hand. The rubber has a totally different feel and texture. I can't complain about either pacs or houges.

Who sells pachmayer in Canada? I tried to order a set of grips from brownells but they wouldn't ship them because the company (pachmayer) hadn't done the necessary paperwork to export gun parts.
