I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of how good an older pacific C type press is? I can buy it for 75$ I haven't seen it yet but it's supposed to be in good condition.I believe it's cast iron?
Thanks
Dan

If its in good condition then grab it for that price while you still can. I have spare Pacific Super Deluxe in excelent condition and let me tell you; its made of cast iron, build like a tank (14+lbs) with high precision and way, way stronger than majority of presently build O frame preses. No coumpound linkage but has enough strenght to resize any cartridge. The only better value press now IMHO is Lee Clasic Cast press (I have one) but you must spend double the money for it.

thanks!
i hope to go out and see it on teusday and from what i have now read online as long as it takes snap in shell holders and regular 7/8 14 dies its probably bullet proof!

My Pacific press is aluminum, and it was cracked across the web.
You couldn't see the crack until you put stress on it from sizing.
The local welding shop put some bubblegum on it, and it works well.

Pacific made a whole bunch of different presses for a bunch of years.
Some are nicer than others, but I don't think mine is any better than
my Lee Challenger press. They are about $75 new, and I can get
parts for the Lee.
One of those Super Mags would be pretty sweet though.
