So I'm looking for a new pack to be used mostly while bowhunting. It will also be used for rifle moose hunting. I do mostly day trips but would like to try an overnight adventure hunt. I would like the pack to have the following features:
-Some sort of frame for packing quarters back to the truck
-hydration comparable
-able to attach bow and rifle to pack for hands free hiking
-not just top loading, I already have a tatonka lastenkraxe as a pack frame and I hate digging through it from the top to find something.
-lots of exterior pockets is a bonus

So I might be better off with a daypack and leaving my pack frame at the truck but I kind of want one pack that does it all.
Does anyone have experience with the MR metcalf? Is the day pack portion comfortable enough to wear by itself for all day hunts?

I had a chance to handle a SeekOutside pack a couple of years ago. It was the lightest weight, full suspension backpack I've ever seen. Pretty much perfect for acting as a big daypack or being put to use as an overnight/haul moose quarters sort of bag. It's pricey though, given the exchange rate. I tried using an older MEC pack but I realized I didn't really want to load dead animal bits into a bag that I might use for an overnighter in the mountains. I've now been using an LL Bean Hunter's Carry All pack for day trips and longer hunting hauls. They usually have a 20% off sale around Christmas so you might be able to offset the exchange a bit.

I realy want a seek outside pack for my next pack
I grew up with the old trapper nelsons I remember looking at new one in Vancouver and drooling over them haahaa

I bought a Mystery Ranch Cabinet from grouse river this fall, and I'm absolutely in love with it. I pretty well had the same requirements as you. Needed a frame and a load shelf that was available all the time, carry a gun or bow in it, hydration compatible. It's not the largest pack, but the expands quite a bit and I think you'd be able to go overnight with it if you didn't go too crazy with gear.

Mystery Ranch. Bomb proof gear. I have dragged one of their rucks through Afghanistan twice and Africa a few times.

Rampart usually has good sales on them.

Stone Glacier. Krux Frame. Whatever bag you want, but get a bigger one than you think you need, because they compress so well that it doesn't matter what size it started with. All modular, so if you don't like the bag you got, get a different one, stick it on the same frame. Not cheap, but just about the lightest out there.

Another vote for Mystery Ranch. The NICE frame carries big weight with ease and mine with a day pack feels like there is nothing on my back.

I love my MR 6500 with guide lid right now. Plan to add a Longbow to the collection next

No love for the Badlands packs here?

My brother always sends me a Cabela's gift certificate so this year decided to put it towards a new day pack. I ordered the Diablo after reading on line all the great reviews. I have not received it yet but thought for certain the brand would be mentioned on this thread.

When talk of packing quarters is mentioned a badlands pack is not in the same league as a kifaru, stone glacier, exo mountain, mystery ranch or Kuiu pack.
