I have seen several threads where guys have used Pacnor barrels in their builds.

Who is a dealer for Pacnor in Canada?

Thanks

I believe Corlane has a deal in the works with Pac-nor

Last PacNor I bought had to go thro an importer, with proper state dept. approval and all that jazz, took took 3-4 months total for a prefit. About half that was production time.

Call Clay at Prophet River. PacNor makes a good barrel and have a variety of reamers for prefits, or you can have a wildcat reamer made and mailed there. Then sent out with your barrel.

Pac-Nor's number is 541-469-7330, but they will not ship to Canada without an export permit and it would be a huge PITA. Great people there at PacNor BTW.

If you only want a button-rifled barrel, Pac-nor is ok, but there is also Shilen (mysticprecision.com) or Canadian barrel makers Ted Gaillard mor Rob McLennan. There is nothing exceptional about Pac-Nor.

Most long-range precision shooters use cut-rifled barrels. If you want to know why, check here... a very good article on barrel manufacturing by Dr. Geoff Kolbe

I have a Gaillard barrel too, chambered in 22-250 AI, it shoots exceptionally well. Under 1/2" with 50 grn Ballistic Tips @ 100 yds.

Are Gaillard barrels cut rifled or button rifled?

JT.

There is nothing exceptional about Pac-Nor.

IMO I have used barrels from pretty much all the makers over the years, and of the 20+ that I used from Pac-nor, not one shot over 1/2 groups. Sporters, varmit, all shot great. I would say that is exceptional! I can't say that about the Hart, Shilen, Gaillard etc I've used. Maybe just good luck, but I'd use them again.

I have also used a number of barrels from Pac-Nor, and they are quality barrels. That is not intended to denigrate any of the others, since I have used Douglas, Hart, Lilja, Krieger, Gaillard, McLennan, Shilen, McGowan and a couple of others with complete satisfaction. Mind you, I think a quality smith plays an important part in the overall picture. Every manufacturer will turn out a "dud" at some time or other, but to judge on the basis of one bad barrel would be short-sighted in the extreme. Eagleye.

Pac-Nor ARE quality barrels, but there is nothing about them that makes them any better than any other button-rifled barrel. I guess my post implied some degree of inferiority. There isn't any.
