Just picked up a new Uzkon T5 single-shot 12ga for some informal trap shooting.

The fit and finish is better than I had expected for a $235 shotgun, with very nice walnut hardware and even sporting sling loops.
The one place the price point shows, however, is the crappy hard plastic buttplate; shooting this T5 as-is out of the box, my shoulder and I would become fast enemies.

Luckily, a local retailer has a large selection of recoil pads, and I had to paw through all of them (twice) to find a decent fit:
the Limbsaver 10111 fits at what I would call 95% being only a touch shorter (eyeballing at about a 32nd of an inch) at the toe of the stock.
It also managed to flex a tad to fit snugly to the slight contour of the butt. As a bonus, the extra 3/4" LOP of the Limbsaver pad has the T5 fitting me better!

For $305 all-in (including the Limbsaver pad) for a quality, walnut furnished Turkish-made shotgun, I doubt there is a better deal out there.

Trap shooting with a gun with that much drop at heel is going to hurt.....

Well, that is a stock photo, and not of the T5 I received. I measure the drop at the heel on mine just shy of 2 1/2"

So far, I shoot most of my trap with a Wingmaster sporting a Boyd's Plainsman (mild monte carlo) stock, which has a bit less drop than the Uzkon, and a much more flat comb.
It is a very comfortable setup for me; I will look at proper gun fitting when I get more serious, and am ready to spend more than $235 on a shotgun.

First up will have to be the patterning board.
