Hey, I was gonna put a limbsaver on a Browning a-bolt 30-06 but it looks like the original is glued on, can't find any screws? Is this normal for Browning?

Thanks for the help,
Chad

It's screwed on. The holes close up after the screws are installed. Just poke around until you find the holes. (Phillips screws. If you need I can send pictures).

If it is a wood stock, the finish covers the black spacer also. Be careful when cutting the finish that chips do not extend onto the wood.

Cover the screw driver tip with a big amount of vaseline before you try to locate the holes in the recoil pad. It will save the pad from getting chewed up and help seal the holes after.

The finish on the wood stock could stick parts of the pad to it if the finish had not completley dried before the pad was installed , but it should not be glued.
