Paint Job Pics

Can you still get the Krylon webbing paint? I looked on the website and didn't find it, and I've checked two stores that sell krylon and they don't know about it. I've heard that krylon discontinued that paint. If anybody has a source I would like to pick up a couple cans.

Try this, good info here.

I have been looking everywhere for this stuff. I even called Krylon, and they told me all webbing spray is now discontinued. Whatever is out there is it, forever...:(

Best chance is mom & pop hardware stores, that may have a can on the shelf...

I just finished this stock. I don't know why, but I love the old style Ruger (canoe paddle) stock. The kakhi is Krylon (camo series) and sealed with a matte clear. The grip panels are painted with Plasti-Dip rubberized paint. I also added a limbsaver recoil pad and removed the sling rings and added the quick-detach swivel posts. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

some absolutely fantastic paint jobs. I keep debating about trying but Im too worried about messing it up

If you're only painting the stock, its pretty hard to mess up. You can always paint it a solid color to cover it up...

I did a couple more recently...not camo though...

How tough is the finish when your done??? Is it prone to chips ?? or easily scratched?? Has anyone used automotive paint??? I am thinking of asking the tech's at my work to pass my daughters rifle stock through the paint shop.

I have found with using the Krylon and clear finish, it is best to leave the finished stock alone (do not install it) for 2 weeks or longer. That gives the paint time to fully cure. It will still chip off if you give the stock a big enough 'bump', but a small detail paint brush makes for an easy touch up.
